Astronomy
I took this picture of comet Hale-Bopp. I used a 35mm camera and a tripod (no telescope).
In the photograph, the blue tail is barely visible.

also like blues and rock and roll. I developed lists of my favorite blues CDs and of my favorite—but less well-known—rock and roll CDs.
Blues [ top ]ere are ten of my favorite blues CDs. Check them out!
- R. L. Burnside, Too Bad Jim. [raw, but compelling blues].
- Anson Fundergurgh and the Rockets featuring Sam Myers, Live at the Grand Emporium. [contemporary electric blues].
- Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Live in Montreaux [1977].
- Slim Harpo, Hip Shakin': The Excello Collection.[infectious].
- John Lee Hooker, The Early Years [another blues legend, with ample justification].
- Robert Johnson, The Complete Recordings (inspired Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and others).
- Freddie King, Just Pickin'. [some great instrumental blues].
- Jimmy Rogers, Blues Blues Blues [featuring Clapton, Jagger, Page, Plant, Richards and others]
- Muddy Waters, One More Mile [plus check out his three studio and one live CDs with Johnny Winter!]
- Howling Wolf, The Real Folk Blues. [the real deal in blues]
Rock 'n' Rollather than list a bunch of fairly well-known CDs, I thought I'd mention ten CDs you may not have heard that I think are worth checking out:
- Adrian Belew, Desire of the Rhino King.
- Cactus, Cactus [a boogie band; what a rhythm section does waiting for Jeff Beck to join].
- Dave Edmunds, DE 7th [you may have heard his version of "I Hear You Knockin'"]
- Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green [before Christine McVie, Lindsay Buckingham, or Stevie Nicks], In Chicago, or Live at the BBC [BB King once said Peter Green is the only guitar player who made him sweat].
- Danny Gatton, with Robert Gordon, The Humbler [a legendary tape circulating among guitar players makes it to CD; check out "Cruisin'"]
- The Hellecasters, Return of the Hellecasters [their first album!] Hellecasters III is very good too.
- John Mayall's Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton [some say this is Eric's best work; I wouldn't say that, but it's pretty hot!].
- Johnny Winter, Live/And [with Rick Derringer on second lead guitar!]
- Ten Years After, Shhhh [most famous for the song "I'm Going Home" at Woodstock].
- Willie and the Poor Boys [rockabilly with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page guesting on a couple of tracks].
