Research I am an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Missouri-Columbia; I have areas of specialization in the philosophy of biology, logic, and game theory. My research centers on the use of formal tools - especially game theory - to answer questions in conceptual analysis. I have published papers on topics including game theoretic explanations of altruism, the use of interactive epistemology to clarify the concept of collective intentions, evolutionary game theory, genomics, and formal logic. At this time, I am working mainly on the subjects of tree automata and genomics.
