Robert Collins Professor A.B. Jersey City State College, 1967 Professor Collins teaches courses in recent U.S. history. His research interests are U.S. public policy and political economy. Publications include The Business Response to Keynes (1981); "The Originality Trap: Richard Hofstadter on Populism," Journal of American History (1989); "The Economic Crisis of 1968 and the Waning of the American Century," American Historical Review (1996); More: The Politics of Growth in Postwar America (2000); and Transforming America: Politics and Culture in the Reagan Years (2006). He is presently at work on a history of the energy crunch of the 1970s.
