PS 1100 American Government
Topics covered in the course include the Constitution, federalism, civil liberties, political attitudes, interest groups, political parties, nominations, elections, and campaigns, voting  behavior, Congress, the Presidency, bureaucracy, and the judiciary.  Meets state law requirement.

PS 4140 Congress and Legislative Policy
This course studies national and state legislative systems and legislative policy making, with an emphasis on Congress.  Prerequisite: POL SC 1100, 1700 and junior standing.

PS 4170 Politics of the American South
This course focuses on the politics of the American South in the latter part of the 20th century and the early years of the  current millennium. For undergraduate credit only. Prerequisite: POL SC 1100, junior standing or instructor's  consent.

PS 9140 American Political Institutions
Critical examination of literature on political institutions in the United States. Topics include Congress, the Presidency, courts, the bureaucracy, political organizations, federalism,  and institutional dynamics. Prerequisite: graduate standing.

In 1997-98 and again in 2005-06, I was the Fei Yi-Ming Visiting Professor of American Politics at the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies in the People's Republic of China.

During 2000-2001, I was Lazlo Orszagh Visiting Fulbright Chair in the Institute of English and American Studies at the University of Szeged in Hungary.

In 1999, I was awarded the Cora Lee Graham Award for Outstanding Teaching of Freshman Students by the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi.
