Personal

I grew up in North Dakota and spent some time in Arizona and Texas. I received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science and a minor in philosophy from North Dakota State University in 2003. During my undergraduate career, I was a resident assistant (RA) in Stockbridge Hall for three years and a web developer for the Germans from Russia Heritage Collection for two years. In addition to working, I participated in eleven campus organizations and held leadership positions in six of them, including student government and the residence hall association. One of my most cherished memories from those four years was being inducted into the Tapestry of Diverse Talents.

After graduation, I moved to Columbia, MO. I worked in the Student Services office at Stephens College and volunteered at the Peace Nook for two years before starting graduate school in Fall 2005.

I love the energy of higher education environments which is why I can't seem to distance myself from them (not that I would want to). In my spare time, I read science fiction and philosophy books; bike; listen to an eclectic mix of music (Ani DiFranco, Metallica, Bach, Green Day and Blink 182); and play computer games and RPGs. My outdoors and adventurous side gets satisfied by mountain climbing, caving and jumping out of airplanes at 13,000 ft.
