Students participating in commencement
ceremonies will receive an MU diploma cover along with a congratulatory
letter. Approximately 12 weeks after graduation, personalized
diplomas will be mailed to each student.
To ensure that you receive your diploma,
with the name you want to appear on the diploma, please do the following:
Update your diploma name. To
update your diploma name (the name you want to appear on your diploma)
you will need to visit the Admissions Office, 230 Jesse Hall. Please
make sure you have an official document (marriage license, drivers
license, birth certificate, passport or social security card) listing
the name as you want it to appear on your diploma. This should be
done at least two weeks prior to the end of the term.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you have graduated and are not a student
at the University of Missouri-Columbia, you are no longer permitted
to change your name on our records. This policy ensures that any further
documents that are requested are historically correct and will reflect
the name under which you earned your degree at this University.
Update your permanent mailing address.
To confirm or update your permanent mailing address (the address where your diploma will be mailed) visit myZou
. To change your address, you
need your pawprint and password. Changing your permanent mailing
address will not change your billing address used for
other correspondence from MU.
Students requesting diplomas to be mailed
internationally need to complete a Student Address Change Form,
which can be picked up at 79 Jesse Hall. This address change form
and an air mail fee of $6.00 payable by cash, check or money order
need to be returned to 79 Jesse Hall. International diploma
mailing addresses cannot be updated in STARMU.
If you have questions regarding updating
your permanent mailing address or your diploma name, please contact the Office of the University Registrar at Diploma@missouri.edu.
