This site is basically a listing of other sites to use in a variety of curricular areas.  There are lesson plans for literature units.  Through these links a variety of sites can be accessed that deal with comprehension, vocabulary, cyberguides, research, authors, and a lot more.  Very comprehensive.

Provides a information on a variety of subjects Ð language arts, history, science, dictionaries in many languages, printables for labeling Ð parts, countries, identification.

check out the part called Reading Links.  There are a ton of useful ideas here, related to reading and many other things.  There is a variety of on-line stories and books, for all ages.  There are also activities to do with stories, general comprehension work, and most anything related to language arts.  Many activities offer an online or printable version.

This is a school site for Palma Sola School.  Look at the Reading Workshop and Curriculum resources for excellent links and ideas for many reading and literacy related projects.

Has a lot of good resources, but also has a whole other section of materials available with a membership only.  But it is still a good source of reading related activities and resources.  You sort of have to search for what you can get for free, but it is there.

This site provides a wide variety of forms related to reading: book reports, Venn diagrams, concept maps, and rubrics.  It also has vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension practice activities.  It has helpful book lists for all levels.

This site mostly has resources for teachers to use, but has a nice variety of online texts for kids to read.  There are a great many links to other reading related sites and resources.  Within the Reading Village and Language Arts links, you can find many resources to related literacy topics (vocabulary, comprehension, book lists, grammar, poetry, assessment, standards)

            Book Adventure is a free reading motivation program for children in grades K-8.  Children create their own book lists from over 6,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books theyÕve read offline, and earn points and prizes for their literacy successes.  Book Adventure was created by the Sylvan Learning Foundation and is sponsored by Sylvan Learning, Inc.

Primarily an ESL site, it has a variety of vocabulary, writing, and listening activities to use with kids. It also provides lesson plans as well.   Many things can be copied and used in a different ways.

            Contains a bank of CyberGuides (supplementary, standards-based, web-delivered units of instruction centered on core works of literature.  These can be accessed by grade level.  This site also has phonics, reading, and writing links that provide many other resources.

Monster exchange is designed to encourage the development of reading and writing skills while integrating Internet technology into the classroom curriculum.  Classrooms from a variety of schools world wide are paired together; the students in each classroom are split into groups, each of which designs an original picture of a monster.  The students must then write a description of the monster.  The partnered classes then exchange their descriptions via- e-mail and the Internet.  These students are then challenged to use reading comprehension skills to read the descriptions and translate them into a monster picture.  The real challenge involves creating a redrawn picture as close to the original picture without looking at the original and using only

      the written description of the monster.
