Please note! - To save these files to your computer, you'll need to click/hold on the hyperlink (right button click/hold on a Windows machine). That will bring up a pop-up menu where you can choose to "save/download the link/target to disk." (If you were to just click on the link, you would only see a bunch of garbage in your browser window.) Then, to view the saved file, you will to have the software listed. If you don't have the software, you should search the Web site of the vendor to see if a demo version is available.

- Description: This is a very extensive page of resources on expert systems including web sites, books, articles, vendors, and more. The one drawback is that all these resources are listed on a single long page with more than 30 small to medium sized graphics, making the page load slowly.
An Overview of Expert Systems

- Description: This site contains a powerpoint slide show created by a computer science faculty member from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. It is a good overview of expert systems and contains an example of a prototype system constructed to help small printing businesses consider environmental issues in their choices of printing products.
Whale Watcher Expert System

- Description: This site has a demo of an expert system created using the Aquire Expert System shell. It assumes the user has been whale watching and is using the system to determine what type of whale they have spotted. The site also contains information about the Acquire software package.
