- Description: This site describes the Supportive
Scientific Visualization Environments for Education (SSciVEE)
project. The goal of this research is to "demonstrate that
scientific visualization, incorporated into inquiry-based
learning, can enable students of diverse abilities to develop
an understanding of complex scientific phenomena such as
climate and weather." From the site you can also link to the
WorldWatcher software used in the project, as well as examples
and activities created by other users.

- Description: The mission of the One Sky, Many Voices
project is "to create innovative, inquiry-based K-12 weather
curricula that utilize current technologies such as CD-ROMS and
the WWW for the interactive study of current weather and air
quality." This site contains links to current projects such as
"Kids as Global Scientists" and "Hurricanes," as well as
research papers and others projects incorporating visualization
tools.

- Description: In The GLOBE Program, students make
environmental observations at or near their schools and report
their data through the Internet. Scientists use GLOBE data in
their research and provide feedback to the students to enrich
their science education. Global images based on GLOBE student
data are displayed on the World Wide Web, enabling students and
other visitors to visualize the student environmental
observations. Check out this site for more information
including links to the GLOBE visualizations.

- Description: This site describes the VisEarth
project, in which students use vizualization tools to learn
Earth Science. Using real-world data, students can learn about
complex Earth science concepts in a hands-on environment. See
the "Friends of VisEarth" link for lessons plans from teachers
already using these tools.

- Description: This is the home page for the CoVis
project, where participating students study atmospheric and
environmental sciences through inquiry-based activities. Using
state of the art scientific visualization software, specially
modified to be appropriate to a learning environment, students
have access to the same research tools and data sets used by
leading-edge scientists in the field.
