Information for Students

The Undergraduate Program

The subjects of study in art history and archaeology are, broadly speaking, the development of European and American cultures and the artistic manifestations of those cultures, both of which are important parts of our humanistic traditions. Courses in Islamic art and occasionally in other non-western fields are also offered. Any student who has been accepted by the College of Arts and Science of the University of Missouri-Columbia is eligible to plan an area of concentration in art history and archaeology.

The Graduate Program

The department offers both a Master of Arts degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in art history and classical archaeology.
