About Project NExT
Project NExT
(New Experiences in Teaching) is a
national program
for new or recent faculty in the mathematical sciences who are interested in improving
the teaching and learning of undergraduate mathematics. Missouri NExT is a
similar program designed for faculty members in the
Missouri Section of the MAA.
Goals
Each year Missouri NExT will organize a special program in conjunction with the Spring
Missouri Section meeting. We hope that through the rest of the academic year,
Missouri NExT participants maintain contact with each other electronically via a list
serve, and in person at informal gatherings when the opportunity arises. The list
serve will provide a forum for stimulating discussion of topics of interest to
participants.
Membership
All full-time faculty members in the Section with less than 6 years in their current
job are invited to apply to participate in Missouri NExT actvities. Graduate students
near degree completion who intend to obtain faculty positions are also welcome.
This Year (2011)
Applications for the Spring 2011 workshop on Friday April 1st
(just prior to the Spring Missouri Section meeting), at Columbia College,
are due by March 15, 2011. If you would like to participate in this workshop, and have never participated before,
see Program Announcement and Application Form.
Get Involved!
We welcome new participants in the other Missouri NExT activities at any time. If you
would like to participate in this more informal way, contact Zdenka Guadarrama at
guadarrama(at)rockhurst(dot)edu with a brief self introduction.
