English 370, Fall 1996
Preliminary Essay 2 Archive
These essays were submitted as revised drafts for Preliminary Essay 2, due October 7, 1996. The
Assignment
called for essays focused on the character construction in a number of plays from the early decades
of the 20th century. The essays are organized according to the play selected for discussion. As
before, I have silently corrected a spelling, and other "technical" problems.
