THE HYPER-SOC PROJECT
The Hyper-Soc Project is the result of the collaborative work of
Idea Works, Inc., the University of Missouri Department of Sociology, the MU Institute for Instructional
technology, the MU Center for Independent Studies, Brown & Benchmark Publishers, and HarperCollins Publishers.
The Hyper-Soc program was developed at the Idea Works, Inc. by Edward
Brent and Alan Thompson. The program has been used extensively in classes taught
by Edward Brent in the Department of Sociology at the University of Missouri.
These www pages were developed as part of a project for the MU Institute of
Instructional Technology Summer Institute. A version of the Hyper-Soc program
will be used in a distance learning course under development for the Center for
Independent Studies. Specialized versions of Hyper-Soc tailored to accompany
specific textbooks are being published by Brown & Benchmark and HarperCollins.
