Requirements 
There will be three in-class tests during the semester, worth 100 points each. There will be one paper based on a combination of Internet and library resources that must be written using a word processor worth 50 points. In addition, there will be occasional class exercises and/or quizzes, computer exercises to be completed outside of class, and class participation via the listserve, worth a total of 250 points. NOTE: These add up to as more points than the first two tests!  Late projects or papers will receive partial credit but must be turned in on or before the last day of classes. Because of the extensive out-of-class work for this course, there will be no final exam and the third exam will NOT be cumulative.
Students who receive a grade of A on the first test based on the curve have the OPTION of writing a longer and more in-depth paper instead of taking the second two tests.

Class
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all class sessions. and are responsible for any announcements , assignments, and quizzes that take place during class. Any work the student cannot complete because they miss a class is their responsibility. Students who have a legitimate need to arrive late or leave early from class should sit in the back row and not disrupt class when they leave or enter. Students who disrupt the class may be banned from the class and given a failing grade for the course. 
Computer & Information Proficiency Course Notice
This is a computer and information proficiency course. As part of the requirements for successfully completing this course, students will be asked to use computers in a variety of ways. This experience should help students gain useful skills they can use throughout their academic life and in the workplace after graduation. There are, no computing prerequisites for this course.
