“The primary purpose of this tool is to provide detailed information about the past performance of every Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing home in the country.” - CMS

1. Pick two LTC facilities that you are familiar with (the two facilities you choose don’t necessarily have to be in the same city, though that would be preferable).
2. Go to the Reimbursement / Documentation Toolkit and use the CMS Nursing Home Compare website to analyze their past performance. 
3. Briefly state the comparative results.
4. Give any insight you might have about the results, and speculate on possible reasons for deficiencies.
5. If you were a member of Mrs. Kahlili’s family, which would you choose?  Why?
