Personal Financial Planning (PFP) at the University of Missouri-Columbia is regarded as one of the premier departments of its kind in the nation. PFP prides itself in working to increase the financial literacy of individuals and families as they strive to reach their financial and economic goals.
Achieving economic well-being is a value-driven process. A clear understanding of household characteristics and the contexts within which household economic decisions are made is as important as understanding the techniques of analysis of economics and finance. PFP provides a curriculum where this complementary relationship is fully recognized and developed. International issues of personal finance are also examined.
It is our belief that a nation is no stronger than its families. Helping households achieve important goals is a very rewarding experience: personally, professionally, financially, and spiritually. Nothing creates a sense of accomplishment more than knowing you have helped a family grow stronger.
