The Friendship Association of Chinese Students and Scholars (FACSS) is the
winner of 2001 Student Diversity Enhancement Award of University of
Missouri-Columbia, which award those who made significant contribution to the
university and the community.
The main activities held by FACSS during 2000-2001 are stated as
following:
- FACSS actively introduce the Today China and Chinese culture to
Colombian.
- Held the Mid-Autumn Festival Party (Sep. 2000)
- Held the Today China Exposition (Oct. 2000)
- Held the New Year Party (Dec.2000)
- Held the Chinese Culture Week (Jan. 2001)
- Organized Chinese students to do voluntary labors on the Clean-up Columbia
Day. (Apr. 2001)
- FACSS actively take part in the various activities for international
culture communication and make excellent performances.
- Took part in the international bazaar (Oct. 2000)
- Took part in the international fashion show (Nov. 2000)
- Took part in the international holiday party ( Dec. 2000)
- Took part in the international night (Mar. 2001)
- FACSS actively develop community culture to raise self-image and rich
community activities.
- Enacted the FACSS Constitution.
- Enacted the standard financial rule, audited the financial affair of FACSS
Committee, and realized the effective financial balance with the rich
community activities.
- Enacted service stars electoral method, honored the community service
stars and perfects the FACSS Committee electoral method.
- Enacted the funding rule and set up a special activity funding to sponsor
FACSS members and clubs to hold the activities.
- Held a series of community activities, including Picnic, Springouting,
Movie shows, KoraOK, and Dancing party.
- Support the non-profit Chinese School to teach Chinese children.
