I am an Associate Professor in Science Education, jointly appointed in the Department of Learning, Teaching & Curriculum and the Division of Biological Sciences. Prior to earning a Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 2002, I taught biology at junior and senior high schools in Nebraska. I was also an instructor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, teaching pedagogy courses in elementary science education and a biology content course for prospective elementary teachers.

I am a qualitative researcher, studying science teacher learning and development at the pre-service and induction levels. I teach pedagogy courses in secondary science education and an introductory biology course for non-science majors.
