We will meet for 45 lecture periods and three of these will be one-hour-exams. We will cover chapters 1 - 13; chapter 14 material will be folded into previous chapters. Hence, we need to cover chapters 1 - 13 in 42 lectures; that means, there are about 3 hours allocated for each chapter. We need to move fast and you need to study from the start to keep up with this pace! The following course schedule is preliminary and I might lengthen or shorten parts of the course as needed. Suggested reading and exercises & self-study are specified in the last two columns. Self-study assignments will be added as the semester progresses. You should read the assigned chapters before the lecture. We will omit parts of various chapters and appropriate announcements will be made in class.
