Evaluation by Group 21
 (1) Topic Selection: 20 Points (0-20)
Death, action, excitement, and environmentalism.  What more could you ask for?

        (2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 10 Points (0-10)
Perfect length, and from a very reputable source.

        (3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 9 Points (0-10)
It's so good that I wanted more.  It's a bit short.

        (4) Organic Chemistry Content: 8 Points (0-10)
Seems more like inorganic chemistry than organic chemistry.

        (5) Selection and Quality of the Links: 18 Points (0-20)
Too many links to carbon dioxide!  One is enough.  Any more makes the editorial hard to read.

        (6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 8 Points (0-10)
Need a question directly related to organic chemistry, and a bit more variety.

        (7) Quality of the Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
Very interesting due to its morbidity.

        (8) Overall Impression. 9 Points (0-10)
Good, but not quite ready for publication in organic chemistry literature.

Evaluation by Group 22

  (1) Topic Selection: 18 Points (0-20)
This topic is very interesting.  It involves natural occurances that are damaging the environment.  This is a topic everyone can relate to.

        (2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 10 Points (0-10)
This article is taken from a very respected source.

        (3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 8 Points (0-10)
The editorial comments seem more like a summary.  More personal thoughts are needed.

        (4) Organic Chemistry Content: 9 Points (0-10)
This topic relates directly with organic chemistry.

        (5) Selection and Quality of the Links: 17 Points (0-20)
The links were very interesting and aided in my understanding of the topic to a great extent.

        (6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
The questions are of a wide variety and cover the main topics of the article very well.

        (7) Quality of the Questions: 9 Points (0-10)
The questions very well written and covered the main topics.  They did a great job on these.

        (8) Overall Impression. 8 Points (0-10)
The questions were very appropriate and correlated very well with the topic.  The editorial comments needed to be less summarizing.

                        TOTAL SCORE: 89

Evaluation by Group 23

        (1) Topic Selection: 18 Points (0-20)
The topic could be of interest to anyone, but it is not unique to organic chemistry.  The topic is fundamental to the science of chemistry, though.

        (2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 10 Points (0-10)
The article was in a high quality newspaper and the author knew what they were talking about.  It is a current article and is not too long.

        (3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 10 Points (0-10)
The editorial comments are clear and well-written.  The information is organized appropriately.

        (4) Organic Chemistry Content: 8 Points (0-10)
The organic chemical issue was made clear; however, carbon dioxide is not unique to organic chemistry.  More description and characterization of carbon dioxide is necessary for us to more completely understand the article.

        (5) Selection and Quality of the Links: 18 Points (0-20)
the links were well blended within the editorial.  Some of the links supported the article very well and provided useful information.  Some were not as useful.

        (6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
Good.  The questions do vary and there are 6 of them.

        (7) Quality of the Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
The questions are good.  They are variable and refer the reader to the links, the article itself, and they make you think.

        (8) Overall Impression. 9 Points (0-10)
The article was good.  Carbon dioxide is not unique to organic chemistry so there could have been some more references to other organic materials.

Evaluation by Group 24

  (1) Topic Selection: 16 Points (0-20)
A good topic, although perhaps not of interest to everyone.

        (2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 10 Points (0-10)
                        Well chosen, well written article.

        (3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 8 Points (0-10)
You could stand to be a little more specific.  A couple of English problems, but nothing major.

        (4) Organic Chemistry Content: 7 Points (0-10)
You are vague on exactly how carbon dioxide is dangerous in high levels.

        (5) Selection and Quality of the Links: 19 Points (0-20)
Good links...the Kyoto Protocol in particular.  Having the link on "carbon dioxide" each time it appears is annoying.

        (6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
                        Good.

        (7) Quality of the Questions: 8 Points (0-10)
Questions are not worded terribly well, and they are a bit on the tough side.  Overall, however, they are good.

        (8) Overall Impression. 8 Points (0-10)
                        Nicely done!

                                                    15 points awarded. The
                                                    carbon-dioxide link could have
                                                    been better (not from a
                                                    "weldingsupply company), and the
                                                    Kyoto Protocol link is dead.

                          (0-10)
                                                    7 points awarded. The topic
selection was a little weak as well
as a few of the links, however, the
work put in to the project was
                                                    worthy of publication.
