Before Final Averages

Friends & Students!

I went over my database and made all the necessary updates. Some students switched from 212 to 300 and some withdrew. With those changes taken into account the following averages result.
Chemistry 212
            E1 E2 E3 CSP Extra Lab Total
Average 56.2 53.1 78.7 94.7 15.9 274 558.4
Percent 56.2 53.1 78.7 94.7 53.0 91.2 79.8 % of 700

212-300 Section (lecture Only)
            E1 E2 E3 CSP Extra Total
Averages 41.6 33.9 53.0 93.5 15.6 221.9
Percent 41.6 33.9 53.0 93.5 51.9 55.5 % of 400

The 212 people are now at an average of 80 percent. That is, you are
going into the final with a low B+. Just perfect.

The 300 people produced an average of 55 points and that is a low C-
and that is too low. Keep in mind that your final is more important
since you will be able to earn 240 points out of a total of 600 points
(while the 212 people can earn 240 points out of a total of 900 points).

Both groups performed about 20 points better in exam #3 than in
exams #1 and #2. I hope this trend continues in the final so that
the 300 students get above a C. That goal can be reached with a good
effort in the final.

Best, RG.
