(C) Topic: 18/20 Reasonably good, and relevant to industry and
personal use.

Article selection: 10/10 Quality site with a qualified,

(C) Reponses to Various Evaluation Categories

(1) Topic Selection: 18 Points (0-20)
Majority of people have used Hairspray and may have experienced some of
it's negative effects. The article focuses on Volatile Organic Compounds
and Organic Polymers in Hairspray.

(2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 6 Points (0-10)
The newspaper is not high quality. The author seems qualified according
to the author. The article is recent, a little short, but exciting.

(3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 10 Points (0-10)
The editorial was sound and comprehensive.

(4) Organic Chemistry Content: 10 Points (0-10)
References are complete. Provided history and context for the key issue.

(5) Selection and Quality of the Links: 19 Points (0-20)
Have met the number of required links. Most links were embedded well
within the editorial comments. The links were relevant and reliable to
article. Geneva Protocol regarding the VOC link, was a favorite of ours.

(6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
The five questions address the topic fully and provide helpful links to
further understand the issue. The synthesis link was cool. The PSP
question requires a thoughtful understanding of societal impacts.
The questions were clear and workable with research provided.

(7) Quality of the Questions: 10 Points (0-10)
(see category 6)

(8) Overall Impression: 9 Points (0-10)
Nice job. This project was informative and relevant to our organic
chemistry class. The links were interesting and fun. Environmental
concerns are relevant to us all.

(A)Group 15: Fall 99.

(B)Group 16: Hydrogen Bomb

(C)
    1)Topic Selection: 20 points
The topic is a good selection. It has a strong relation to
organic chemistry especially the topics we have covered this
semester.

2)Newspaper and Article Selection: 10 points
The newspaper article is very descriptive and provides a lot
of indepth scientific information.

3)Quality of Editorial Comments: 10 points
Your editorial commments really point out how dangerous these
compounds are and do a good job of explaining these compounds.

    4)Organic Chemistry Content: 10 points
The organic content is very clear and the links help provide
more information about hydrocarbons which we studied this
semester.

5)Selection and Quality of Links: 18 points
We think some of the links should have went directly to the
source we were looking for instead we had to do some searching
in the links, but eventually found what we were looking for.

6)Format, Number, and Types of Questions: 9 points
The questions were very good and varied in type, the last
question should have been the (PSP) instead of the second.

    7)Quality of Questions: 10 points
The questions are good and deal with the central issues of
the article and editorial comments. They also can be worked in
a reasonable time period.

    8)Overall Impression: 9 points
The project as a whole was very good and kept our attention
while we read and worked it, the only complaint is that the
links could have been easier to use.
