There are 63 scheduled meetings and of these 6 meetings will be used for 3 one-hour-exams, 2 quizzes, and the final examination. Of the remaining 57 meetings, 46 will be traditional lectures, 4 meetings will be active learning sessions in the classroom, and 7 meetings will be active learning sessions in the computer labs. We will cover chapters 1 - 13; chapter 14 material will be folded into previous chapters. Hence, we need to cover chapters 1 - 13 in 46 lectures; that means, there are about 3.5 hours allocated for each chapter. We need to move fast and you need to study from the start to keep up with this pace! The following course schedule is preliminary and I might lengthen or shorten parts of the course as needed. Suggested reading and exercises & self-study are specified in the last two columns. Self-study assignments will be added as the semester progresses. You should read the assigned chapters before the lecture. We will omit parts of various chapters and appropriate announcements will be made in class.
