(C) Responses to Various Evaluation Categories

(1) Topic Selection: 20 Points (0-20)
This is relevant to all people considering that we all have blood, and may
someday need a transfusion. It is very interesting.

(2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 10 Points (0-10)
The article was current and from a reliable source. The article was a bit
long, but made up for it with exciting text.

(3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 10 Points (0-10)
The editorial comments helped explain the complex article very well. We
did not find any grammatical errors. The comments were simple.

(4) Organic Chemistry Content: 7 Points (0-10)
There was not very much organic chemistry found in the article or the
editorial comments. Most of the comments had to do with the hemoglobin
and the blood, and little to do with the organic chemistry involved.

(5) Selection and Quality of the Links:20 Points (0-20)
All of the links worked, and were of very good content. The background
information helped explain the rest of the article very well.

(6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 9 Points (0-10)
All five questions are there. They cover many different aspects of the
article. However, only two questions dealt with organic chemistry, one
being the use of chemfinder.

(7) Quality of the Questions: 9 Points (0-10)
Only two of the questions dealt with organic chemistry, while the other
questions did not require any independent thought. These other questions
could be found just by searching through the article and links. The last
question was thought provoking however.

(8) Overall Impression. 9 Points (0-10)
Although the project was very well done, the lack of organic chemistry and
its applications left a little to be desired. A few minor adjustments,
and some more organic chemistry could help boost the project to that elite
level.

Overall: 94 points
