2) Newspaper Article Selection
9 points - Interesting article that raises important questions for the
future, but kind of long.

3) Quality of the Editorial Comments
10 points - Well organized, short, to-the-point, clear, nice graphic,

4) Organic Chemistry Content
10 points - Synthesis of sodium pentothal is very neat and illuminating.
Good and thorough details.

5) Quality of the Links
17 points - More links would probably have helped establish background
information for the topic. Also more detailed links would help.

6) Format, Number and Types of Questions

Evaluation by Group 3

A) Group 3 : 4-OC-Studs
B) Group 6: The Ethanol Absorbers
C)
1) Topic Selection : 20 / 20
The topic is interesting and related to inorganic and organic chemistry.
2) Newspaper and Article Selection: 8 / 10
Article is intresting and raises ethical issues. While it may be a recent
article and strong in biology, it seems to lack a little in the organic
aspect.
3) Quality of the Editorial Comments: 10 / 10
Good effort and the comments tie the article into chemistry.
4) Organic Chemistry Content: 9 / 10
Both the article and the editorial comments work well together to cover
the bases, however they could have placed more emphasis on what actually
occurs chemically.
5) Selection and Quality of Links: 20 / 20
Good links.
6) Format, Number and Types of Questions: 10 / 10
Nice variety and good number.
7) Quality of the Questions: 8 / 10
Well written, but questions 3 and 4 detract from the key issue.
8) Overall Impression: 9 / 10
A little revison would make it ready for publication.
