Assistant Professor

Ph.D., Nankai University, 1996;

Research Associate, University of Western Australia, 1996-1998;

Research Scientist, Texas A&M University, 1998-2004;

Assistant Professor, University of Missouri, 2004-present.

Member of Biophysical Society, Sigma Xi, New York Academy of Science.

Research: Our Nano-Biotech Group is developing a novel technology for single molecule detection by using using engineered Nanopore, which can be used to solve biomedical problems, e.g. tracking cellular components, probing biochemical reaction, investigating bio-transportation, protein-ligand recognition, special properties of designed biopolymers, detecting pharmaceuticals and pathogen traces,...... The nanopore-based Single Molecule Detection could also play important role in proteomics and genomics.

We apply pico-ampere (10-12 A) current recording technique and molecular biology, and will combine with nanofabrication and bio-MEMS in future.
