Femme Fatale: Laurel Tremaine [Sharon]:
Necromancer, criminal, martial artist (aikido).

|
Ping's Observations
This is one dangerous woman. Setting her looks aside (I know, difficult), she talks to the dead.
Well, I don't know this for sure, I haven't been there when the deed was done but she has
told us things she shouldn't know. Things that other people, recently dead people, might know.
And she has use her "mojo" to incapicate some thugs/miscreants who meant us ill, assorted
dinosaurs who wanted to eat us and other opponents.
She was captured by the "Ghost People" at one point but doesn't remember what happened to
her. She was, however, wearing the same clothes that we found on frescos worn by
"Atlanteans".
She's learned a great deal more "mojo" and I've seen her throw bolts of lightning as well
as other things. She can steal knowledge from someone (temporarily) and force them to do her will.

Monk: Ping (Mickey Shannon) [Jim]:
pilot/martial artist (kung fu)/bodyguard
Mickey Shannon grew up on the south side of Chicago. He was an incorrigible youth and joined up
with a gang when he turned 15. There were numerous assault, larceny and breaking and entering
charges filed against himi and he served 18 months at the Joliet. A robbery turned bad resulted
in the death of an elderly shop owner who was a friend of his mother's.
 |
Fleeing the law, his mother gave him enough money and he left Chicago. Attempts to find honet work
failed and eventually he signed on to a tramp steamer bound for the far east.
Making port in Shanghai, Mickey got a job at a local airport doing odd jobs. He convinced the
airport owner to teach him to fly. He learned more about China and discovered a monastery in the
northern province of Henan. He joined the monks to learn how to live at peace with his past. It
proved to be a struggle at first but as he studied he made progress.
Until the Japanese invaded Manchuria. Ping (as he was now known) was easily identified as an
American. Another tragedy dogged his steps when he tried to stop a Japanese officer from assaulting
one of the temple elders, who had intervened to stop the beating of a young girl. The girl was
taken away to become a comfort girl, the elder was beaten to death and Ping was forcibly moved to a
town on the Yellow River where he was loaded aboard a tramp freighter and sent back to the US.
He landed in New York determined to keep his new life and to continue his search for redemption.
A wealthy industrialist named Wayland Wolfe recruited Ping for an expedition he was planning.
Ping realizes that he is now some sort of magnet for danger.

Moneybags: Wayland Wolfe [Jack]:
Dying Wealthy Industrialist Jack-of-all-trades.

Ping's Observations
This is one rich man. And he's doomed. And in pain. And so he's determined to find the
"Fountain of Youth" hoping that
it can cure his
pancreatic cancer. So he hired me
to be his muscle, driver, manservant and whatnot. He definately travels in lofty circles. And how
there's any number of Bad People who are after us. He has assembled an interesting group of
adventurers to aid him in his search.
So far we've seen some strange things but I think it can only get stranger.
We found some water in a strange artesan spring that seems to have some marvelous medicinal
properties and now are searching for more and/or it's source.
We are now, apparently, in the Center of the Earth following our search for the Fountain to
many strange and new places, meeting interesting and terrible people (and beings) along the
way.

Mad Scientist: Doctor Henry Aleman [Andy]:
Medical Doctor/inventor.

|
Ping's Observations
This is a doctor with a strange hobby. He has some sort of strange metal helmet that he uses for
all kinds of things. When I first saw it he was using it on Mr. Wolfe to control his pain. When
we were about to be hauled in to the precinct station house he put it on and used it to get the
cops to stop the paddy wagon. When we were being pursued by some one flying a biplane and shooting
at us he used it to predict what they were going to do and give me instructions on where to go
to avoid the bullets. When we were exploring the cave while he guarded our prisoner he used it to
tell Mr. Wolfe that Bad People were coming to rescue her.
And now it's caused him to go into a coma. Great.
Well after seemingly turning coat during the fight with the pirates, he's run off into the jungle
and now seems to have been capture by the "Ghost People". He's run off after betraying
us to our enemies. However it seems he may not be dead and I have a bad feeling that we may
encounter him again, much to our shagrin.

Field Biologist: Johnny Himalayas [Jeff]:
Scientist in search of the truth.

|
Ping's Observations
Now this is an adventurer. A real manly man who climbs mountains, shoots goats and such. But he
can find his way around the jungle. And he has more guns than anyone else I've ever seen, even
No-Thumbs back in Chicago (called that after losing one thumb in a shooting "accident").
He seems to be able to figure out these odd manuscripts and maps and such. And he's traveled
around a lot I think.
Johnny has proved to be invaluable in figuring out the strange things and places we've found as
well as talking to people and keeping us safe (he's a mean shot with his rifle).
Johnny has an ... unfortunate? characteristic of acting before he thinks. At least it seems
impulsive. However he seems to always manage to walk away from these encounters, sometimes a
bit worse for the wear. But life is never dull around him.

|
Doctor: Doctor Willian "Doc" Sullivan [Grant]:
Adventuring Doctor.

|
Ping's Observations
The latest addition to our group. He seems a bit headstrong and perhaps overconfident but
his first aid and medical acumen seem without peer.

Other Characters, Organizations and Artifacts
(in order of appearance, those still alive listed first, groups/artifacts listed last)
|
- Andrew Mellon
-
"Friend" of Wolfe's. Also after whatever the map leads to. Possibly behind house breakin. Possibly
behind attempted aircraft shoot-down.
- The Gray Haired Man
-
Some fellow who's also following us. Possibly more lethal than Mellon and his
cronies.
- "Rummy" Bill McCoy
-
A notorious rumrunner from prohibition who's hiring us a ship to Bimini/Tortuga.
- David Libby (Missing, presumed KIA)
-
Allied Pilot during the Great War. Got four kills. Possibly killed by Laurel via a ritual when
he was piloting a German biplane attempting to shoot us down as we flew from Atlantic City to
Miami. No idea who he was working for. Reported to have stolen a biplane from a zeppelin bound
for Berlin and flown south.
- Sampson
-
A local Bimini boy Johnny hired in Alicetown as a guide.
- Grandad
-
Sampson's grandfather. Asked his advice about the language in Laurel's manuscript. He told us
he'd seen text like it in a cave on the north end of Bimini.
- Young Woman (name unknown)(KIA)
-
The leader of a group of thugs whom we encountered in Alicetown. She was seeking Laurel's map.
We defeated them (and Doctor Aleman killed them) and took her prisoner. She told us she worked
for Doctor von Wurrtemberg before she was killed in a rescue attempt. We took a more accurate map
from her equipment.
- Doctor von Wurrtemberg
-
A short, rotund, balding man who hired a woman and some mercenaries to follow us and get
the map.
- Jorg, George and Bumpo (Bumpo WIA)
-
Three rather ineffective pirates manning an outpost on the trail above the pirate village. Bumpo
accidentially shot himself in the leg while fleeing from us. Jorg was killed by Lieutenant
Campos in an abortive coup attempt.
- Lieutenant Campos (Captured)
-
A pirate lieutenant we met in their village while trying to locate the Ghost People who had
abducted Laurel.
- Captain Galiega (Missing, presumed KIA or captured)
-
Captain of the pirates in the village. Fled when his ship was torpedoed and the village was
attacked by a plesiosaur.
- Captain-leutnant Ferdinan Hoffmeister (WIA)
-
Captain of the Bremen, a 1917 German cargo U-boat. Shot by Mr. Wolfe following his
apparent murder of Radioman Grau.
- Oberleutnant Alben Lowman
-
First Mate of the Bremen. Acting captain following the wounding of Captain Hoffmeister.
- Radioman Ortwin Grau (KIA)
-
Radioman of the Bremen. Killed by Captain Hoffmeister.
- Wahoc (WIA)
-
An Atlantean, married to Laurel. Shot by Captain Hoffmeister.
- Oona
-
An Atlantean, Wahoc's sister, sister-in-law to Laurel.
- Isla Muerta
-
The first land we encountered in the Hollow Earth.
- The Fountain Of Youth
-
Mr. Wolfe is searching for this hoping it will cure his cancer. Laurel has a map and a manuscript
which he hopes will aid in his search. He has funded our expedition. We know little beyond
rumor of it's location or properties.
- Ghost People (Atlanteans?)
-
An unknown group of "people" who may have abducted Laurel. Common knowledge seems to indicate
that they kill their captives and anyone who disappears while in the jungle are taken by them.
Laurel was recovered from them dressed in a sarong. We found fresco with "Atlanteans" wearing
the same garb. They have legends of an "artifact" (called The Golden Treasure) which is
supposed to bestow eternal life.
- Reptile Men
-
Walking crocodile-men we found in the swamp at the temple. There may be a link between these
people and the Atlanteans, as they possessed some coins which appear to bear a resemblance
to the frescos in the temple in the swamp on Isla Muerta.
- SS Bremen
-
A German cargo u-boat which disappeared in 1917. We hired passage on this boat from Isla Muerta to
Tortuga. It was attacked by leviathans and bombed by an airship while we were aboard.
