The new house

Following my final insurance settlement after the motorcycle accident, everyone I know was telling me I should buy a house. I knew I should, it's a much more financially stable situation than renting for someone in their 40s, but I procrastinated as I do so often.

Our friend Ryan Dooley and his wife Tristin, finally decided it was time to move away from the town they grew up (in her case) and went to college in. He got a job working for Yahoo in California and called me asking if I wanted to buy their house. I used this as the impetus to get myself motivated and once I saw the house again I realized it was a great house.

I have until the end of this July to move out of my apartment so the moving is going slowly but I have hope. And lots of vacation if (well, when) I need it.

It's difficult to get a good idea how nice this place is (and how roomy) from these pictures but perhaps once I get my stuff in and buy some good furniture those pictures will be better.

Well the move is finished and what didn't get thrown out (15 bags the 1st Tuesday of July, 6 bags the 2nd, 24 bags the 3rd and 25 bags last night) was moved over. At least half (if not more) of the furniture was trashed as "bachelor" furniture and now I need to buy a bunch of stuff but the house is feeling more mine now.

There was one strange thing I found while moving.
