Welcome
to the ISoTherM Web
Page
Due
to rapid development in electronic industry, including dramatic increase
in chip density and power density, as well as continuous decrease in the
physical dimensions of electronic packages, thermal management is, and will continue to be one of the most critical
technologies in electronic product development. It will directly impact the cost,
reliability, and performance of advanced microelectronic devices. The
motivation behind the Research Consortium for Innovative Solutions of
Thermal Management (ISoTherM) is to
tackle the current and future cooling needs and develop novel low-cost
cooling technologies. The research
in the ISoTherM focuses on the
phase-change cooling devices including conventional heat pipe,
miniature/micro heat pipe, capillary pumped loop, pulsating heat pipe,
and flexible heat pipe in order to develop innovative applications in the
thermal management of microsystems or
components.
The ISoTherM
involves the faculty, research engineers, graduate students, and
undergraduates at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The research
projects being currently conducted at the ISoTherM
are based on the inputs from all members.
Members are entitled to the following benefits:
·
Input for the ISoTherM
research projects.
·
Access to and use of ISoTherM
materials on ISoTherM members’
only area of the ISoTherM Web site.
·
Access to and use of ISoTherM
software.
·
Annual presentations on the research
activities of the ISoTherM.
·
Consultations.
