CONTROVERSIES IN COMMUNICATION.  This writing intensive course is organized around three controversial topics in communication: 1) Communication Ethics 2) Free Speech and 3) New Communication Technologies. These distinct issues were selected from many possibilities because they have applications to several communication contexts (i.e., interpersonal, small group, organizational, public, political, mass media). Readings and assignments are designed to stimulate thought and discussion.  You will have opportunities to critically evaluate multiple perspectives and articulate arguments for your own position regarding a number of communication controversies. This course carries Writing Intensive credit.  It is approved for Humanities credit for students who are not Communication majors.
