About me

I am a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at the University of Missouri - Columbia. My primary research interests are philosophy of science and metaphysics (causation).

The focus of my dissertation is negative causation. I tackle the various puzzles and problems that arise when we treat absences as genuine causes or effects.

I have also included a collection of documents for prospective employers. Here I include copies of my CV, teaching statement, evidence of excellence in teaching, and research statement.

I am currently teaching a section of the MU honors college humanities sequence, The Ancient World. It is a fantastic opportunity, covering literature, philosophy, art, and music from the era. I am also teaching Intro to Philosophy at Central Methodist University, and an upper division Ethics course at Columbia College. In past semesters, I have taught Contemporary Moral Issues, The Modern World for the MU Honors College, and introductory courses in philosophy, ethics, logic, and bioethics.

On this site, current students can access some important class information. I also included a section where I provide a number of helpful resources for philosophy students. On the "research interests" page, I provide some insight into what I'm currently working on. This page, much like the research itself, is very much 'under construction.'
