The Veerkhala Rook - ancient temple and sacrificial alter is the last stop on the Eastern hillside before descending down to the river. Human sacrifices took place to appease Kal Bhairao, a form of Shiva. The sacrifices no longer take place, ended by the British rule in 1824. There is also a statue of Kunti Mata located on this hillside.
