Welcome!Hello and Welcome to the Central Missouri Counties (CMC) Head Start's Resources and eventually Education website. Head Start is a 35 year-old, federally funded program providing early childhood development services and support to children age five and under (including infants) and their families within federal income guidelines or "children at" risk income guidelines. Our purpose for this website is to provide resource links and customized education to our staff, outside trainers, speakers, volunteers and especially the families we serve in the eight-county mid-Missouri area. This website is a partnership project with the University of Missouri - Columbia Extension Division's ParentLink Office. Similar to the way we encourage young children to learn, we are learning by doing. Suggestions are welcomed. Phase I of this project will be completed January 2003 and will also include resource links for specific staff classifications and job descriptions; teaching ideas and pedagogy; STEP; and exemplary Head Start sites across the country. Phase II of the project will be completed by May 2003 and will include CMC Head Start's first custom, online course and will be targeted to parents and is called "Kindergarten Readiness Begins at Infancy" To learn more about the following topics:
Feel free to look around and check back often! If you want to make a comment, suggest a resource, a link, or idea, please click here. Rymh |
