  • Interim Director of College Counseling

    Oversaw and managed comprehensive college counseling program for grades 9-12th. Curriculum included weekly classes highlighting study skills, standardized test preparation, essay writing tutorials and resume building.

  • College Counselor, Teacher and Assistant Wrestling Coach

    Counseled approximately 160 Upper School students. Wrote letters of recommendation for 35-40 members of senior class. Conducted evening programs for parents in large group and individual settings. Coached wrestling. Accomplishments: Organized ninth grade college-counseling curriculum -- introduced grade-level text Assisted in coaching 6th statewide ranked wrestling team with five state placers.

1996 – 1997 AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (A*NCCC), Charleston, SC

  • Served on a 12-member team and provided community service to high-need areas throughout the southeastern region of the United States.
  • Constructed YMCA recreational facility in Manchester, TN. Fought wild forest fires in Francis Marion National Forest. Wrote detailed project summaries for continual federal aid eligibility.
