Planning a vacation sometime soon and want to capture the moment in a scrapbook? Here are a few ideas to help you along:
When packing, make sure to bring
lots of film. Your local Wal-mart sells it for a lot less than the
airport gift shop!
Pack a folder to keep brochures
in. This helps keep the brochures from getting crumpled in a suitcase.
Take a spiral notebook to jot
down notes. During a quiet moment each day write what you did that day
so it is easier to remember when you get back home.
If you are flying, carry your
film with you on the plane to avoid the luggage x-ray scanning
equipment. It can harm your film.
Keep your film and camera out of
the heat (like a hot car).
Make sure to take pictures of
everyone - including you! Give your camera to another vacationer to
get shots of the group.
Kaye Hendricks of Georgia suggests
investing in a tripod if you will be traveling in remote places. It allows
you to take together shots when there are not a lot of other people around!
Don't want to give your expensive
camera to a stranger? Take a disposable camera along for those group
shots.
Kaye also suggests getting doubles of your
vacation photos - one set for cropping and another for yourself!
On each roll of film, label it with
your name, address, and where you are staying. It can be
helpful if you lose the film!
Collect pamphlets from the sites you
see. Also spend the money and buy postcards! They make great additions to
your page.
