Instructions:
- Click the above image to download the 5MB Gif animation directly into your browser. With a highspeed connection, the download may take less than a minute; with a lowspeed connection (56k or 28k) it will take much longer--which will allow you to examine the 44 individual Gif images in detail, if you are so inclined (best viewed in Full Screen mode--F11). Or,
- download the self-extracting zip file by clicking here. Extract the animation to a folder where you can find it, and play it in an image viewer or browser of your choice (supported by Explorer, Netscape, and Irfanview among others--Irfanview will allow you to extract the individual image files.)
I created the sequence of image files with Winfract, using the provided "chromo" filter, and increasing the iterations of a Julia set selected from the classic Mandelbrot set (the first and last image in the sequence) from 50 to 400. I then dropped the files into the UnFreez 2.1 Gif animator. Both Winfract and UnFreez 2.1 can be downloaded for free from their respective download pages.
