Programs > Emerging Leadership Program
The Emerging Leadership Program is designed to recognize and develop the leadership potential of MU students. Founded on the belief that leadership is a process rather than a tangible product, ELP engages participants in a series of carefully designed leadership initiatives that emphasize self-awareness, teamwork, appreciation for diversity, and citizenship. The purpose of the Emerging Leadership Program is to develop the leadership potential of students, motivate students to use their leadership skills to become more involved on campus and in the community, and to challenge students' basic assumptions about leadership and help to cultivate their own personal leadership vision.
By participating in the Emerging Leadership Program, you will:
- Define your personal leadership style
- Participate in interactive workshops on leadership topics
- Participate in small groups led by two mentors
- Conduct community service and leadership projects
- Build relationships and communities with other students
- Connect leadership topics to your own experiences and personal goals
