Current Research

Dr. Tan's current research focuses on developing new techniques for measurement, control, and automation of biological, food and other processes. The ongoing research activities are in three main areas:

·        Image-processing and multivariate classification techniques for tissue differentiation,

·        Fluorescence-based biosensing and bioimaging, and

·        Bioprocess modeling and control.

The research group consists of full-time staff and graduate students. More information can be found on his Bioinstrumentation Lab website.
