Copyright Information

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code ) governs the reproduction, distribution, adaptation,
public performance, and public display of copyrighted material. Any person who makes an unauthorized copy or adaptation of
a copyrighted program, or redistributes a loan copy, or publicly performs or displays the program, except as permitted by
Title 17 Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Act of the United States Code, may be liable for copyright infringement.

Department of Justice Appropriation Authorization Act
[incorporating S. 487, Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization
Act, and S. 320, Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization (TEACH) Act]. H.R. 2215, signed by President 11/2/02. Now Public Law 107-273.
Amends chapter 1 of title 17, USC, relating to the exemption of certain performances or displays for educational uses from copyright infringement
provisions, to provide that the making of copies or phonorecords of such performances or displays is not an infringement under certain
circumstances, and for other purposes. (The "TEACH Act" is Subtitle C--Educational Use Copyright Exemption--of Title III of H.R. 2215.)
