Staff Education AwardPURPOSE: ELIGIBILITY: 2. Current MU Staff Advisory Council and Staff Development Award Program Committee members are not eligible to participate while serving their term. 3. Funds will not be provided for courses or registration deadlines that occur prior to the funds availability date. 4. APPLICATIONS MUST BE LEGIBLE. Printed or type written proposals are preferred. ENDOWMENT DISTRIBUTION CRITERIA: 3. Proposals from staff who are eligible for Educational Assistance or Adult Education courses that are paid by the University are not eligible for support from this program. However, the remaining 25% not covered by the above-mentioned assistance programs, as well as any other educational costs that have not been reimbursed (books, fees, etc...) may be considered for support from this program. For information regarding Educational Assistance or the Adult Education benefit program, campus staff should call Human Resource Services at 882-7976; hospital staff should call 882-8186. 4. The following will NOT be funded: speaker honoraria, in-house seminars, certification exams only, magazine/journal subscriptions, dues, or equipment. 5. Expenditures funded and reimbursement procedures must be in accordance with University regulations and consistent with approved budget. 6. Proposals will be evaluated using the following criteria: Conforms to stated criteria/procedures (Is the applicant eligible? Was the deadline met? Does request meet funding availability timeframe?) Consistency of outcome (Are the benefits anticipated consistent with stated purpose of the course?) Budget feasibility (Is the budget justifiable? Is it properly itemized?) 7. Successful applicants are required to submit a brief written report summarizing their educational experience within thirty days following completion of the course. A copy of expense documents and proof of grade received should be attached. Failure to submit a report may disqualify future applications. APPLICATION PROCESS: 2.
