Each year, nearly five million visitors from every corner of the planet come to visit Grand Canyon National Park. As home to many cultural and natural treasures, the Canyon has earned the distinction of being named a World Heritage Site. The world’s most famous chasm is 277 miles long, ten miles across, and one mile deep. The inner canyon is populated by dozens of unique and magnificent pinnacles, buttes, and mesas.
Early mapmakers bestowed the title of “temple” on several of the more majestic landforms. Brahma, Vishu, Shiva Temples are three such peaks. Collectively they anchor many of the signature vistas from both the South and North Rims.
Photographer and Grand Canyon resident Mike Buchheit has been photographing the canyon for fifteen years. He has made his photographs of these giants available for OM Shanti Mandiram guests to enjoy.
