Update on Tiger Awareness Month 2006
We had a very successful month of activities in October, 2006. Tiger experts, Brian Gratwicke of Save the Tiger Fund and Matthew Lewis of World Wildlife Fund gave informative talks about what's being done to save tigers, including innovative research using remote cameras and telemetry to fundraising and supporting field research and aiding international protection. National Geographic photographer, Joel Sartore presented a thoughtful and humorous lecture about the challenges of capturing endangered species on film and encouraged the audience to learn about species and the issues facing them such as habitat loss and human encroachment. Read Laura Dotson's (Vice President, MT4T) article covering Joel Sartore's talk here (to be posted soon).
