Against the backdrop of political and social issues affecting Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) community such as gay marriage and AIDS, this program takes a close look at sitcoms, reality shows, and premium cable programming between 1998 and 2006. The program raises questions about how this queer presence on television is shaped by the imperatives of the commercial media system and driven, in part, by advertisers targeting GLBT consumers.
