The Wakonse Conference to Improve teaching is an annual event which draws faculty, staff and administrators from a variety of institutions and disciplines. The goal of the conferences is, simply, to improve teaching and learning in higher education. More information about Wakonse can be found on their homepage.

The Wakonse ListServs

Some participants wanted to keep in touch of the latest announcements of the group and to share their observations throughout the year. For that reason, we decided to start up two discussion groups: wakonse-mu-l and wakonse-l.

Wakonse-mu-l is limited to news about the Wakonse group at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Wakonse-l is a listserv for all Wakonse participants. Anything posted to wakonse-l is automatically forwarded to wakonse-mu-l.

E-mail addresses change quite frequently, and people seem to be able to access the web quite easily. For that reason, here are directions for subscribing and unsubscribing to the listserv from your browser.

To Subscribe to the Wakonse lists.

1. First, make sure that your e-mail address (or the one you want to use) is the address you want to receive the listserv messages. For Netscape users, this means clicking under the ``edit" menu at the top of your screen, selecting preferences, and then selecting the option ``Mail and Groups" and then selecting ``identity" if the ID you see there is acceptable, proceed to step 2.
2. Click on the following e-mail address and send a message (with no ``Subject line") which contains one of the following:

Send a message to: listproc@lists.missouri.edu with no subject line, and a message that contains:

Subscribe wakonse-mu-l your-name-goes-here

 If you want to Subscribe to the MU general wakonse listserv at wakonse-l@lists.missouri.edu:

Send a message to: listproc@lists.missouri.edu with no subjct line, and a message that contains:

Subscribe wakonse-l your-name-goes-here

Unsubscribing from the listservs

To Unsubscribe to either of these lists, simply send an e-mail to either listproc@lists.missouri.edu with a blank subject line and the message

unsub wakonse-l

or

unsub wakonse-mu-l
