VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT DESIGN

Avatars :
body extensions in cyberspace

The ActiveWorlds technology produced by Circle of fire Studios is one of the most advanced virtual shared space available on the web. Users of avatar worlds are called citizen : a sign that they should be respected as members of a community.
While many other virtual environments are built in VRML, these ActiveWorlds are generated by Renderware(RWX code) for real-time rendering.

Design Process is consists of 5 basic steps below.
1. data collection, 2. 2D image editing, 3. 3D modeling and texture mapping, 4. data conversion from 3D to rwx code, 5. debugging

Texturing and Original Painting by Won-Ha

VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) enables audience to experience a real-time, fully interactive environment in cyberspace.
Inspired by a mixed media artist, Won-Ha's work 'woods', 2D images were represented in 3D space and converted into VRML. Touch sensors of sounds and animations were programmed to provide acitve interaction.
