Marina Folescu

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy, at the University of Missouri. I earned a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Southern California (2013). Before starting graduate school in philosophy, I studied art history in Bucharest, Romania (BA, 2002) and London, Canada (MA, 2005.)
My dissertation offered a new interpretation of Thomas Reid's philosophical work, focusing on his integrative approach to singular thought. I argued that, according to him, the faculties of the mind function together to give us knowledge of the individual objects of the world.
Much like G. E. Moore, beside common sense philosophy, I enjoy the simple  pleasures of life: gardening, hiking, watching films, seeing paintings, and running in sandals.
