Stephen L. Quackenbush





Dr. Quackenbush's research focuses on international conflict, deterrence, and game theory. Specific areas of interest include bridging the divide between formal and quantitative studies of deterrence, the impact of conflict settlements and outcomes on recurrent conflict, identifying opportunity for international conflict, war outcomes, and counterinsurgency. He is the author of International Conflict: Logic and Evidence (CQ Press, 2014), Understanding General Deterrence: Theory and Application (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011), and a number of articles published in journals such as the Journal of Politics, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Political Research Quarterly, Journal of Peace Research, International Interactions, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and Review of International Studies.
